Jantaş was founded in 1968 by Cevdet İnci. It started production of wheels for agricultural and light trucks in 1974 at a plant based in Gaziemir. In 1979, Jantaş brought flow forming, which was a maiden technology even for Europe, to Turkey upon which production of wheels for large trucks was launched. Cevdet İnci’s design was registered as a base patent the same year.
Jantaş became an important manufacturer for main automotive industry in 1990. New lines were deployed to address customers’ needs, when the production capacity of 300,000 wheels was pushed to produce 500,000 upon demand.
Jantaş partnered with German Lemmerz in 1992 to produce steel wheels for passenger and light commercial vehicles, and Lemmerz İnci, first joint venture of the company, was founded. Operations were launched in 1993, at a new factory in Manisa Organized Industrial Zone. With Lemmerz being a partner to also Jantaş in 1996, the capacity rose to 800,000 wheels. In 1997, Lemmerz Jantaş moved to the factory in Manisa where modern production lines were in use, increasing the capacity to 1,500,000.
When American Hayes Group acquired Lemmerz in 1997, the companies were renamed as Hayes Lemmerz Jantaş and Hayes Lemmerz İnci. The capital of Turkish Inci Holding in these companies was fixed as 40%.
Hayes Lemmerz Jantaş started to export 70% of its production in 2000, becoming the most preferred supplier in Europe. The first export to Japan automotive industry was made in 2006.
In 2005, Hayes Lemmerz İnci decided to produce aluminum wheels for passenger and light commercial vehicles in Manisa Organized Industrial Zone. Production was launched in 2006, under the name of Hayes Lemmerz İnci Aluminum.
